How do I setup my Thomson Digital Television Recorder (DTR)

Does subscribing to Top Up TV Anytime reduce my recording space?
Yes, but you can control how much space you have by customising your Top Up TV Anytime viewing (un-ticking the channels you don't want to receive programming from), this will mean you will have more space for your on recordings.
I have a CAM (conditional access module) - can I get Top Up TV Anytime?
To subscribe to Top Up TV Anytime you need to buy a Top Up TV DTR, which plugs into the back of your TV. If you have a CAM,you can enjoy Setanta Sports1 by calling us on 08444 158 158.
How do I setup my Wharfedale Digital Television Recorder (DTR)?
We’ve set out below 6 simple steps to ensure your box is working correctly:
- Once you have installed your box (please follow the instructions in the user manual) and leave your box in standby mode (a solid red light will be visible on the front of your box).
- During the next 90 minutes (but usually within 15 minutes), the box will display ‘OAD’ on the front panel. It then starts up as normal and asks you to scan for channels.
- Once the ‘OAD’ message has gone off, if the box hasn’t turned itself on, please press the on/off button to take it out of standby.
- Perform the ‘scan for channels’ procedure as requested (if you are setting up your box for the first time, please follow the set-up screens on screen).
- If you have previously scanned your box and need to repeat this procedure again, you do so by using your remote control and pressing ’Menu’, then ‘Set-Up’ (4) then ‘Scan for Channels’(1)
- Once the scan is complete, press ‘Guide’ to check your channels are back. Your DTR should now have all the latest features and channels ready for you to enjoy.
How long does my DTR take to arrive, after I’ve ordered it?
The DTR will usually be despatched 1-2 working days after the order is received. It will then arrive within 2 working days. If you have not received your DTR 7 days after you ordered it, then please give Customer Services a call.
Will Parcelforce require a signature upon delivery?
Yes, someone will need to sign to take delivery of the DTR.
What do I do if I need to return my Top Up TV+ DTR?
If you need to return your Top Up TV+ DTR, either for a replacement if faulty, or for a refund, you must firstly call 08444 159 159 and Top Up TV will send you a returns slip in the post. Once this is received, you need to take your Top Up TV+ DTR (in it's original packaging if you have it, or if not, suitably packaged so that it is not damaged on the journey) and returns slip, to any post office. The post office will return it to Top Up TV (the postage will already have been paid by Top Up TV). If your DTR was faulty, once your DTR has been received by Top Up TV a new one will then be sent out. It will take about a week to receive your new DTR once the old one has been taken to the post office. If you are sending your box back because you no longer want the service any monies owed to you will be refunded once the DTR has been received by Top Up TV.
How will my DTR be delivered?
Your DTR will be delivered by Parcelforce, to the delivery address that you have given.
What happens if there isn’t anyone at the address when Parcelforce arrive?
Parcelforce will attempt delivery twice. If they are not successful, they will leave a notification card and you will be able to collect the DTR from your local Parcelforce depot.
Can I track my delivery online?
Yes, give Customer Services a call and they will be able to provide you with a delivery tracking number.
I set my DTR up yesterday, but I haven’t got any Top Up TV Anytime downloads yet?
When you first set up your DTR, it can take up to 24 hours for it to fully populate the Guide information. Your downloads may not start until the second night after you’ve set it up, and it will then take 7 days for your Anytime library to fill with content.
